Dateline December 5 1933, Prohibition in the United States ended:

The required 75% of states needed to enact the Twenty-first Amendment was reached when Utah became the 36th U.S. state to ratify it. This overturned the 18th Amendment which had made the manufacture, sale, or transportation of alcohol illegal in the United States.

Stupid mistakes can be fixed.

Some mistakes are a BIT harder to fix than others. But there's still a core of people in this country who aren't afraid of doing the hard things.
